Hello and welcome to Colourstrings Music!
Classes and lessons are offered by Melanie Jones (MMus, BMus Honours, Teaching Cert.) in/near Tain, Scottish Highlands. Melanie is a professional cellist, teacher and performer, and loves to educate students of all ages.
She was a student at Chethams School of Music, Trinity Laban Conservatoire (London), the Royal Northern College of Music and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (USA). The two Methods she teaches are the Kodaly Method (singing in Solfa) and Dalcroze Eurhythmics (moving to music played) – Melanie was trained in these Methods at Trinity Laban in London and the San Francisco Conservatory.
Melanie holds an Enhanced DBS Check Document and is a member of the Musicians Union. Currently she teaches Cello, Piano and Violin privately and is on the faculty at the University of Liverpool where she teaches Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree students. Melanie also performs as a soloist and chamber musician.
In her spare time she enjoys playing chess, cooking and searching for tasty dark chocolate.
